കാസർകോട്: പോക്സോ കേസിൽ റിമാൻഡിൽ കഴിയുകയായിരുന്ന യുവാവിനെ കാസർകോട് സ്പെഷ്യൽ സബ് ജയിലിൽ മരിച്ച നിലയിൽ കണ്ടെത്തിയ സംഭവത്തിൽ ശക്തമായ വിവാദങ്ങൾ ഉയരുന്നു. ബുധനാഴ്ച രാവിലെയാണ് മുബഷിർ (30) എന്ന യുവാവിനെ ഗുരുതരാവസ്ഥയിൽ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയത്, എന്നാൽ ചികിത്സയ്ക്കിടെ മരണം സംഭവിച്ചതായാണ് വിവരം.

2016-ലെ പോക്സോ കേസിലാണ് ഈ മാസം തുടക്കത്തിൽ വിദ്യാനഗർ പൊലീസ് മുബഷിറിനെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ എട്ടുവർഷമായി വിദേശത്ത് ജോലി ചെയ്തിരുന്ന ഇയാൾ ഒരു മാസം മുമ്പാണ് നാട്ടിലെത്തിയത്. മാതാവിന് ഉണ്ടായ വാഹനാപകടവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പരാതി നൽകാനാണ് അദ്ദേഹം സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ എത്തിയതെങ്കിലും, പഴയ കേസിൽ ഇയാൾ പ്രതിയാണെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ പൊലീസ് ഉടൻ തന്നെ കസ്റ്റഡിയിൽ എടുത്ത് കോടതിയിൽ ഹാജരാക്കുകയായിരുന്നു., തുടർന്ന് സബ് ജയിലിൽ റിമാൻഡിൽ പാർപ്പിച്ചു

ഇതിനിടെ കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ജയിലിലെത്തി ഇയാളെ കണ്ട ബന്ധുക്കൾക്കളോട് , തനിക്കെതിരേ ജയിലിനുള്ളിൽ മർദനമുണ്ടായതായും ചില ഗുളികകൾ കഴിക്കാൻ നിർബന്ധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതായും മുബഷിർ പറഞ്ഞതായി കുടുംബം ആരോപിക്കുന്നു. ബുധനാഴ്ച രാവിലെ ആരോഗ്യനില പെട്ടെന്ന് മോശമായതിനെ തുടർന്ന് ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയെങ്കിലും, മാറ്റിയ വിവരം കുടുംബത്തെ അറിയിച്ചിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് ആരോപണങ്ങളിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.

സഹതടവുകാരോ ജയിൽ ജീവനക്കാരോ മർദിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാകാമെന്ന സംശയം കുടുംബം ഉന്നയിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ശരിയായ പരിശോധനയ്ക്കായി പരിയാരത്ത് പോസ്റ്റ്മോർട്ടം നടത്തണമെന്ന നിലപാടിലാണ് കുടുംബം.

According to family members, during their recent jail visit, Mubsheer had complained of being assaulted inside the jail and being forced to take unidentified tablets. The family also alleges that they were not informed when he was shifted to the hospital. They suspect that he may have been attacked either by fellow inmates or jail staff and have demanded that the postmortem be conducted at Pariyaram Medical College for accuracy.

The Kasaragod MLA has also intervened, supporting the family’s call for a detailed probe.

Kasaragod Town Police have registered a case and begun investigations to determine the cause of death.
