ചിറ്റാരിക്കാലിൽ ‘കള്ളത്തോക്ക്’ പൊട്ടി യുവാവിന് പരിക്ക്; സംഭവം പുറത്തറിഞ്ഞത് നാലാം നാൾ

ചിറ്റാരിക്കാൽ: നാടൻ തോക്കിൽ നിന്ന് അബദ്ധത്തിൽ വെടിയേറ്റ് യുവാവിന് പരിക്കേറ്റ സംഭവം നാല് ദിവസത്തിന് ശേഷം പുറത്തറിഞ്ഞു. ഭീമനടി ചെലാട് സ്വദേശി സുജിത്തിനാണ് (45) വെടിയേറ്റത്. അനധികൃതമായി കൈവശം വെച്ചിരുന്ന തോക്ക് പരിശോധിക്കുന്നതിനിടെ അബദ്ധത്തിൽ കാഞ്ചി വലിഞ്ഞ് വെടിപൊട്ടുകയായിരുന്നു.

കഴിഞ്ഞ ഞായറാഴ്ച രാത്രി ഏഴ് മണിയോടെയാണ് സുജിത്തിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ വെച്ച് അപകടം നടന്നത്. വെടിയേറ്റ സുജിത്തിനെ അന്ന് തന്നെ കാസർകോട് കിംസ് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചെങ്കിലും വിവരം രഹസ്യമാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ വ്യാഴാഴ്ച ആശുപത്രി അധികൃതരിൽ നിന്ന് വിവരമറിഞ്ഞ ചിറ്റാരിക്കാൽ പോലീസ് സ്ഥലത്തെത്തിയതോടെയാണ് നാടകീയമായ വിവരങ്ങൾ പുറത്തുവന്നത്. കൈക്ക് പരിക്കേറ്റ സുജിത്ത് നിലവിൽ ചികിത്സയിലാണ്.

സംഭവത്തിൽ ആയുധ നിയമപ്രകാരം (Arms Act) പോലീസ് സുജിത്തിനെതിരെ കേസെടുത്തു. ലൈസൻസില്ലാത്ത തോക്ക് കൈവശം വെച്ചതും അപകടകരമായ രീതിയിൽ അത് കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തതും പ്രകാരമാണ് നടപടി. ഈ തോക്ക് സുജിത്തിന് എവിടെ നിന്ന് ലഭിച്ചു എന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് പോലീസ് അന്വേഷണം ഊർജ്ജിതമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. വേട്ടയാടാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന തോക്കാണോ ഇതെന്ന് ഉറപ്പിക്കാൻ പോലീസ് കൂടുതൽ പരിശോധനകൾ നടത്തും.

മലയോര മേഖലകളിൽ അനധികൃതമായി നാടൻ തോക്കുകൾ സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നത് വലിയ അപകടങ്ങൾക്ക് കാരണമാകുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് പോലീസ് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകി. വരും ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ കാർഷിക മേഖലകളിലും വനാതിർത്തികളിലും കള്ളത്തോക്കുകൾ കണ്ടെത്താൻ വ്യാപകമായ പരിശോധന നടത്താനാണ് പോലീസിന്റെ തീരുമാനം.
