23 വാർഡുകളുള്ള പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ എൽ.ഡി.എഫ്. 12 സീറ്റുകൾ നേടി ഭൂരിപക്ഷം ഉറപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ യു.ഡി.എഫിന് 11 സീറ്റുകളാണ് ലഭിച്ചത്. ഒരു സീറ്റിൽ ബി.ജെ.പി. വിജയിച്ചു. അതായത്, ഒരു സീറ്റിൻ്റെ നേരിയ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം മാത്രമാണ് എൽ.ഡി.എഫിന് അധികാരക്കസേരയിൽ തുടരാൻ വഴിയൊരുക്കിയത്. വോട്ടെണ്ണലിൻ്റെ ഓരോ ഘട്ടത്തിലും ഇരുമുന്നണികളും ഇഞ്ചോടിഞ്ച് പോരാടിയത് പ്രദേശത്ത് കടുത്ത ആകാംഷയാണ് സൃഷ്ടിച്ചത്.
