കാസർകോട്: ജില്ലയെ ഞെട്ടിച്ച കൊലപാതക കേസിൽ, രണ്ട് വർഷത്തിലേറെയായി നിയമനടപടികളിൽനിന്ന് ഒളിവിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ പ്രതിയെ ബദിയടുക്ക പോലീസ് സാഹസികമായി പിടികൂടി. മഞ്ചേശ്വരം താലൂക്കിലെ ഷേണി–മഞ്ഞാറ എസ്റ്റേറ്റ് മേഖലയിൽ താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്ത്രീയെ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയ കേസിലാണ് മേപ്പാടി സ്വദേശിയായ പ്രതി വലയിലായത്.

എസ്റ്റേറ്റിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്തിരുന്ന തൃക്കൈപ്പറ്റ സ്വദേശി ആന്റോ സെബാസ്റ്റ്യൻ (39) ആണ് പിടിയിലായത്. 2023 ഫെബ്രുവരിയിലാണ് കേസിനാസ്പദമായ സംഭവം. കൂടെ താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്ത്രീയെ കാണാതായപ്പോൾ, ‘പിണങ്ങി പോയതാണെ’ന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് ഇയാൾ അധികൃതരെ കബളിപ്പിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ ദിവസങ്ങൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടും സ്ത്രീയെ കാണാത്തതിനെ തുടർന്ന് എസ്റ്റേറ്റ് സൂപ്പർവൈസർ നൽകിയ പരാതിയിലാണ് പോലീസ് അന്വേഷണം തുടങ്ങിയത്

പോലീസ് നടത്തിയ പ്രാഥമിക അന്വേഷണത്തിലാണ് ഇതൊരു സാധാരണ കേസല്ല, മറിച്ച് കൊലപാതകമാണെന്ന് തെളിഞ്ഞത്. കാണാതായ സ്ത്രീയെ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയ ശേഷം, മൃതദേഹം തുണിയിൽ പൊതിഞ്ഞ് താമസസ്ഥലത്തെ അകത്തെ മുറിയിൽ ഒളിപ്പിച്ച നിലയിൽ കണ്ടെത്തുകയായിരുന്നു. കൊലപാതകത്തിന് തൊട്ടുപിന്നാലെ പ്രതി ആന്റോ സെബാസ്റ്റ്യൻ ഒളിവിൽ പോവുകയും ചെയ്തു.

പിന്നീട് തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ തമ്പാനൂരിൽവെച്ച് ഇയാളെ പോലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്‌തെങ്കിലും ജാമ്യത്തിലിറങ്ങിയ പ്രതി വീണ്ടും മുങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇതോടെ ഇയാൾ കോടതിയുടെ ‘പിടികിട്ടാപ്പുള്ളി’ പട്ടികയിൽ ഇടംനേടി

പിടികിട്ടാപ്പുള്ളിയായ പ്രതിയെ വലയിലാക്കാൻ കാസർകോട് സബ് ഡിവിഷൻ സ്‌ക്വാഡുമായി ചേർന്ന് ബദിയടുക്ക പോലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷൻ പ്രത്യേക ഓപ്പറേഷൻ ടീമിനെ നിയോഗിച്ചു.

ജില്ലാ പോലീസ് മേധാവി ബി.വി. വിജയ ഭരത് റെഡ്ഡി ഐ.പി.എസ്., കാസർകോട് എ.എസ്.പി. ഡോ. നന്ദഗോപൻ എം. ഐ.പി.എസ്. എന്നിവരുടെ നേരിട്ടുള്ള മേൽനോട്ടത്തിലായിരുന്നു നീക്കം. സാങ്കേതിക നിരീക്ഷണം, മൊബൈൽ ഡാറ്റാ അനാലിസിസ്, രഹസ്യവിവരങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് നടത്തിയ തീവ്രമായ അന്വേഷണത്തിനൊടുവിൽ വയനാട് പുൽപ്പള്ളിയിൽ ഒളിവിൽ കഴിയുകയായിരുന്ന പ്രതിയെ വയനാട് പോലീസിൻ്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ ബത്യദുക്ക പോലീസ് പിടികൂടി.

ഒന്നര വർഷത്തിലധികം നീണ്ട ഒളിവുജീവിതം അവസാനിപ്പിച്ച് പ്രതിയെ നിയമത്തിന് മുന്നിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ സഹായിച്ച, ബദിയടുക്ക ഇൻസ്‌പെക്ടർ സന്തോഷ് കുമാർ എയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള സംഘം അഭിനന്ദനം അർഹിക്കുന്നു. ജി.എസ്.സി.പി.ഒ. ഗോകുല എസ്, സി.പി.ഒ.മാരായ ശ്രീനേഷ്, ആരിഫ്, സ്‌ക്വാഡ് അംഗമായ ഷജീഷ് എന്നിവരടങ്ങിയ പോലീസ് സംഘത്തിന്റെ നിശ്ചയദാർഢ്യവും സാങ്കേതിക തികവോടെയുള്ള പ്രവർത്തനവും കേസിന് നീതി ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നതിൽ നിർണ്ണായകമായി.

In a major breakthrough, Badiyaduka Police arrested Anto Sebastian (39), an estate worker from Thrikkaipeetta, Meppadi, who had been absconding for over two years in connection with a sensational murder case in Kasaragod district.

The incident dates back to February 2023, when a woman living with Anto in a Sheni–Manjaro estate went missing. Anto initially misled coworkers and estate authorities by claiming she had left after a dispute. Suspicion grew when she remained untraceable, prompting the estate supervisor to file a police complaint.

Police investigation soon revealed that it was not a case of disappearance but a brutal murder. The woman’s body was discovered hidden inside their quarters, wrapped in cloth. Soon after the crime, Anto fled the area. Although he was later arrested in Thampanoor, Thiruvananthapuram, he secured bail and went underground again, leading to him being declared a “proclaimed offender.”

A special operation team comprising the Badiyaduka Police and the Kasaragod Sub-Division Squad tracked him through technical surveillance, mobile data analysis, and intelligence inputs. With assistance from Wayanad Police, the accused was finally arrested from Pulpally, Wayanad.

The operation was supervised by District Police Chief B.V. Vijay Bharat Reddy IPS and ASP Dr. Nandagopan M IPS. The arrest is credited to the persistent efforts of Inspector Santhosh Kumar E and his team—GSCPO Gokul S, CPOs Srinesh and Aarif, and squad member Shajeesh—whose coordinated action ensured the fugitive was brought back to justice.
