By തിരുവനന്തപുരം: സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് പോകുന്നതിനായി ബസിൽ കയറിയ ഒമ്പതാം ക്ലാസ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിയെ ലൈംഗികമായി പീഡിപ്പിച്ച കേസിൽ കെ.എസ്.ആർ.ടി.സി കണ്ടക്ടർക്ക് കഠിന ശിക്ഷ വിധിച്ച് തിരുവനന്തപുരം പോക്സോ കോടതി. വെമ്പായം വേറ്റിനാട് സ്വദേശി സത്യരാജിനെ (53) അഞ്ചു വർഷം കഠിന തടവിനും 25,000 രൂപ പിഴയടക്കാനും കോടതി വിധിച്ചു. ജഡ്ജ് എം.പി. ഷിബു ആണ് കേസിൽ വിധി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്. കുട്ടികളുടെ സുരക്ഷ ഉറപ്പാക്കാൻ ഇത്തരം കേസുകളിൽ കർശന നടപടി അനിവാര്യമാണെന്ന് കോടതി നിരീക്ഷിച്ചു.
2023 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 4-നാണ് കേസിനാസ്പദമായ സംഭവം നടന്നത്. സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് പോകുന്നതിനായി പതിവുപോലെ ബസിൽ കയറിയ 14 വയസ്സുകാരിയായ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിയുടെ ശരീരത്തിൽ കണ്ടക്ടറായ സത്യരാജ് മനഃപൂർവം സ്പർശിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. കുട്ടി ഒഴിഞ്ഞുമാറി നിന്നിട്ടും ഇയാൾ വീണ്ടും അതിക്രമം തുടർന്നതോടെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനി ഭയത്തിലായി. സ്കൂളിലെത്തിയ ഉടൻ തന്നെ കുട്ടി വിവരം അധ്യാപകരെ അറിയിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന് സ്കൂൾ അധികൃതർ ആര്യനാട് പോലീസിൽ വിവരം കൈമാറുകയും പോലീസ് കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്യുകയുമായിരുന്നു.
സംഭവത്തിൽ ആര്യനാട് സബ് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ എൽ.ജൈറ്റ് ആണ് അന്വേഷണം പൂർത്തിയാക്കി കോടതിയിൽ കുറ്റപത്രം സമർപ്പിച്ചത്. കേസിൽ 13 സാക്ഷികളെ വിസ്തരിക്കുകയും 18 രേഖകൾ കോടതിയിൽ ഹാജരാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. പെൺകുട്ടികളുടെ യാത്രാ സുരക്ഷ ഉറപ്പാക്കേണ്ട ഉത്തരവാദിത്തമുള്ള പൊതുഗതാഗതത്തിലെ ജീവനക്കാരൻ തന്നെ ബസിനുള്ളിൽ വച്ച് അതിക്രമം കാട്ടിയത് അതീവ ഗുരുതരമായ കുറ്റമാണെന്ന് പ്രോസിക്യൂഷൻ കോടതിയിൽ ശക്തമായി വാദിച്ചു. പ്രതിയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി കുട്ടിയുടെ മാനസികാരോഗ്യത്തെയും സുരക്ഷാബോധത്തെയും സാരമായി ബാധിച്ചതിനാൽ പരമാവധി ശിക്ഷ നൽകണമെന്ന് പ്രോസിക്യൂഷൻ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു.
പബ്ലിക് പ്രോസിക്യൂട്ടർ ജെ.കെ. അജിത് പ്രസാദ്, അഭിഭാഷക വി.സി. ബിന്ദു എന്നിവരാണ് പ്രോസിക്യൂഷൻ ഭാഗം നയിച്ചത്. അഞ്ചു വർഷം കഠിന തടവിനൊപ്പം വിധിച്ച പിഴത്തുക ഇരയായ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിക്ക് നൽകാനും കോടതി ഉത്തരവിട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
