By കാസർഗോഡ്: ഉദുമ പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ അപൂർവ രാഷ്ട്രീയ നാടകമാണ് അരങ്ങേറിയത്. ഭരണസമിതിയിൽ ഭൂരിപക്ഷമുള്ള യുഡിഎഫ് അവസാനം പ്രസിഡന്റിന്റെ കസേര നഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തി. കാരണം സ്വന്തം സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥിയുടെ വോട്ട് തന്നെ അസാധുവായതാണ്. ഇങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ടായ സമനിലയിലാണ് സിപിഎം സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥി പി.വി. രാജേന്ദ്രൻ നറുക്കെടുപ്പിലൂടെ പ്രസിഡന്റായി തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത്. അപ്രതീക്ഷിത ഈ തിരിച്ചുവരവ് ഇടതു മുന്നണിക്ക് വലിയ ജയം സമ്മാനിക്കുമ്പോൾ, യുഡിഎഫ് പ്രവർത്തകരെ ഞെട്ടലിലാഴ്ത്തി.
ഉദുമ പഞ്ചായത്ത് ബോഡിയിൽ ആകെ 23 അംഗങ്ങളുണ്ട്. ഇതിൽ 12 അംഗങ്ങൾ യുഡിഎഫിനും 11 പേർ സിപിഎമ്മിനുമാണ്. അതിനാൽ പ്രസിഡന്റ് സ്ഥാനം പിടിക്കാൻ യുഡിഎഫിനായിരുന്നു വ്യക്തമായ അനുകൂലം. എന്നാൽ നിർണായക നിമിഷത്തിൽ സംഭവിച്ചത് നിയമപ്രശ്നമായിരുന്നു. കോൺഗ്രസിൻ്റെ പ്രസിഡന്റ് സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥിയായ ചന്ദ്രൻ നാലാം വാതുക്കൽ വോട്ടുചെയ്തപ്പോൾ ബാലറ്റ് പേപ്പറിൽ ഒപ്പ് ഇടുന്നത് മറന്നുപോയി. തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് നിയമപ്രകാരം വോട്ടർമാരുടെ ഒപ്പില്ലാത്ത ബാലറ്റ് അസാധുവാണ്. അതോടെ ആ നിർണായക വോട്ട് എണ്ണിപ്പിടിക്കാതെ പുറത്താക്കി.
തുടർന്ന് സിപിഎം സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥി രാജേന്ദ്രനും, ചന്ദ്രനും 11 വോട്ടുകൾ വീതമായി സമനിലയിലെത്തി. നിയമാനുസൃതം തുടർന്ന് നടന്ന നറുക്കെടുപ്പിലാണ് ഭാഗ്യം ഇടത് മുന്നണിക്കു ചേർന്നത്. രാജേന്ദ്രൻ പ്രസിഡന്റായി ഉയർന്നതോടെ ഉദുമ പഞ്ചായത്ത് അടുത്ത ആറുമാസം സിപിഎം നേതൃത്വത്തിലാണ് മുന്നേറുന്നത്.
