By കാസർകോട് : മരം മുറിക്കുന്ന മെഷീൻ തിരിച്ചു നൽകാത്തതിനുള്ള വിരോധത്തിൽ വാക്കുതർക്കം രൂക്ഷമായി മാറിയപ്പോൾ കരിങ്കല്ല് കൊണ്ട് തലക്കടിച്ച് കൊല്ലാൻ ശ്രമിച്ച കേസിൽ പ്രതിക്ക് ഇരട്ട ശിക്ഷയായി 7 വർഷം വീതം കഠിന തടവും മൊത്തം ₹2 ലക്ഷം രൂപ പിഴയും കോടതി വിധിച്ചു. പിഴ അടച്ചില്ലെങ്കിൽ 6 മാസം വീതം അധിക തടവ് അനുഭവിക്കണമെന്നും കോടതി ഉത്തരവിൽ പറയുന്നു.
ഉപ്പള ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ പോസ്റ്റ് ഓഫീസിന് സമീപം താമസിക്കുന്ന നാഗരാജ നായക്ക് കടമായി നൽകിയിരുന്ന മരംമുറി മെഷീൻ തിരികെ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ, അത് നൽകാൻ നിരസിച്ച പ്രതി വിജയ നായക്ക് (50), രാജീവ് നഗർ, ഷിമോഗ എന്നയാളുമായി തർക്കം ചൂടുപിടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. വഴക്കിനിടെ പ്രതി നാഗരാജ നായക്കിനെ തടഞ്ഞു നിർത്തി, കൊല്ലണമെന്ന ഉദ്ദേശത്തോടെ സ്ഥലത്ത് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വലിയ കരിങ്കല്ല് ഉയര്ത്തി തലയില് മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം അടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
ഗുരുതര പരിക്കുകളോടെ നാഗരാജ നായക്കിനെ ആശുപത്രിയില് പ്രവേശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു. സംഭവത്തിന്റെ ക്രൂരത പരിഗണിച്ച്, കാസറഗോഡ് അഡീഷണൽ ഡിസ്ട്രിക്ട് & സെഷൻസ് ജഡ്ജ് III അചിന്ത്യാ രാജ് ഉണ്ണി, 2025 നവംബർ 25-ന് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച വിധിയിൽ പ്രതിക്ക് ഇന്ത്യൻ ശിക്ഷാനിയമം 326 വകുപ്പിൽ 7 വർഷം കഠിന തടവും ₹1 ലക്ഷം പിഴയും, 307 വകുപ്പിൽ (കൊലശ്രമം) 7 വർഷം കഠിന തടവും ₹1 ലക്ഷം പിഴയും ശിക്ഷയായി വിധിച്ചു.
കേസിൽ തുടർനടപടികൾ വേഗത്തിൽ മുന്നോട്ടുകൊണ്ടുപോയത് മഞ്ചേശ്വരം പൊലീസ് ആയിരുന്നു . Cr.No.367/19 (SC 390/20) രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി പ്രാഥമിക അന്വേഷണം നടത്തിയിരുന്നത് അന്നത്തെ സബ് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ എൻ.പി. രാഘവനാണ് . പ്രതിയെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തത് മുൻ ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ പി.കെ. ധനഞ്ജയ ബാബുവാണ്. തുടർന്ന് വിശദമായ അന്വേഷണം പൂർത്തിയാക്കി കുറ്റപത്രം സമർപ്പിച്ചത് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ എ.വി. ദിനേഷ്. പ്രോസിക്യൂഷൻ വാദങ്ങൾ ശക്തമായി മുന്നോട്ടുവെച്ചത് അഡീഷണൽ ഗവൺമെന്റ് പ്ളീഡർ അഡ്വ. സതീശൻ പിയും അഡ്വ. അമ്പിളി കെ.എം. കൂടിയുമാണ് . തർക്കം മുതൽ ദാരുണമായ കൊലശ്രമത്തിലേക്ക് എങ്ങനെ വളർന്നു എന്നതു വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്ന വിധിയാണിത്.

A court in Kasaragod has sentenced a 50-year-old man, Vijay Naik of Rajiv Nagar, Shimoga, to two separate terms of seven years of rigorous imprisonment along with a total fine of ₹2 lakh, after he attempted to kill a neighbour by striking him on the head with a large stone.

Failure to pay the fines will result in an additional six months’ imprisonment each.
The case (Cr. No. 367/19; SC 390/20) was initially registered and investigated by then Sub-Inspector N.P. Raghavan of Manjeshwaram Police Station. The accused was arrested by Inspector P.K. Dhananjaya Babu, and the final charge sheet was submitted by Inspector A.V. Dinesh.
Additional Government Pleader Adv. Satheesh P and Adv. Ambili K.M. appeared for the prosecution.
