By കാസർകോട്: സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് തദ്ദേശ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൻ്റെ രണ്ടാംഘട്ട വോട്ടെടുപ്പ് പുരോഗമിക്കുന്നതിനിടെ ചെറുവത്തൂരിൽ 15 വയസ്സുകാരനെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ച സംഭവം നാടിനെ ഞെട്ടിച്ചു. ചെറുവത്തൂർ മാച്ചിപ്പുറം സ്വദേശിയായ അബ്ദുൽ ഹക്കീമിനെ (60) ചന്തേര പോലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു. പ്രതിക്കെതിരെ പോക്സോ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള ഗുരുതര വകുപ്പുകൾ ചുമത്തി കേസെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
വോട്ടെടുപ്പ് നടന്ന വ്യാഴാഴ്ച ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 11 മണിയോടെയായിരുന്നു സംഭവം. പൊതുസ്ഥലത്ത് നിന്ന് സ്കൂൾ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയായ കൗമാരക്കാരൻ ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് നടന്നുപോകുമ്പോളാണ് അതിക്രമശ്രമം നടന്നത്. പ്രതി കുട്ടിയെ സമീപത്തെ ഒരു കെട്ടിടത്തിലേക്ക് വിളിച്ച് കൊണ്ടുപോയി കെട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ച് പീഡനശ്രമം നടത്തിയെന്നാണ് പരാതി. കുട്ടി ഭയന്ന് ഉടൻതന്നെ അവിടെനിന്ന് ഓടി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടതോടെയാണ് സംഭവം പുറത്തറിഞ്ഞത്.
സംഭവവിവരം ലഭിച്ച ഉടൻതന്നെ ചന്തേര പോലീസ് സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി കുട്ടിയുടെ മൊഴിയെടുത്തു. തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് തിരക്കുകൾക്കിടയിലും പോലീസ് മണിക്കൂറുകൾക്കകം പ്രതിയായ അബ്ദുൽ ഹക്കീമിനെ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. പ്രാഥമിക ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യലിന് ശേഷം വൈദ്യപരിശോധന പൂർത്തിയാക്കി പ്രതിയെ കോടതിയിൽ ഹാജരാക്കുമെന്ന് പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ അറിയിച്ചു.
